Im Oktober startete SkyRiver "a new bibliographic utility that offers a low cost alternative for cooperative cataloging". Gegründet hatte es Jerry Kline, dem Mitgründer und Chef von Innovative Interfaces. SkyRiver wurde vom Library Journal sogleich als ernstzunehmender Konkurrent zu OCLCs WorldCat im Bereich Fremddatenübernahme gehandelt.
